RIFT Service Announcement: Player Reporting

Hello there, Ascended.
Across your many adventures, you may have encountered countless heroes—some lifelong companions in battle, and others who may have had a negative impact on your experience.

Today we want to talk about how to successfully report a player in an efficient way.

How to submit a player report

Submitting a player report is as simple as filling the appropriate form with the required information. You can find the player report form linked below:

https://gameservices.gamigo.com/PlayerReports/RIFT

NOTE: Player reports cannot be submitted outside this form.
(Our Customer Support agents, Community Team or gamigo staff will NOT collect information outside this form or create one for you)

What can I report players for?

Reporting players can range through various reasons, some of which are tightly connected to and not limited to Glyph’s Terms of Use.

Across some of the reasons you may report a player, common code of conduct guidelines are taken into consideration and at the discretion of RIFT’s team as a non-exhaustive list (ie. An act of harm towards another user or RIFT not outlined in rules or guidelines may still be taken into consideration by the report reviewer, should the action be considered harmful towards any party).

NOTE: Please be aware that reporters won’t receive updates or responses regarding their reports under any circumstances, as the entire investigation and sanction process remains internal in accordance with our privacy policy.

What makes a good player report?

A good player report is made by a few simple yet critical details:

1. The name of the character you are reporting (Reported)
2. Your own character name (Reporter)
3. A shard where the offense took place
4. A description of the offense
5. Any relevant media (screenshot/video)

Is the media important to a player report?

A screenshot or video is a key requirement for a report to be successful.
We would like to fully stress the importance of providing a screenshot or video that fully matches the criteria below, with no exception:

1. Screenshot or video MUST BE full screen.
2. A screenshot or video MUST BE fully unedited (ie. No boxes highlighting messages or red arrows pointing at elements on the screen) and the UI must remain visible at all times.
3. A screenshot or video MUST capture the offensive act and be relevant to the reported player in question.
4. Screenshots with UI modified through addons are allowed, as long as the reported act remains fully visible.
5. A screenshot or video MUST BE provided through a platform that does not require an account to be created for media to be viewed. (example: imgur)

NOTE: Should any of the report criteria above, or the media guidelines above not be met, a report may be closed without investigation at the discretion of RIFT’s Team.

We thank you for taking the time to read our player reporting guidelines.

Your RIFT Team.
